(Zender June, 2003) The Sotheby's panel (Mayer 1991: 19, plate 96; see also Maya Cosmos, p. 66), now in a prominent US collection, mentions another Chak K'uh lord, one Yax K'oj Ahk, probably in connection with the 9.9.16.0.0 PE. While Linda saw this as a reference to creation (ie, 13.0.0.0.0), the passage lacks the JAL verb typical of Creation clauses, and I suspect she was misled by the k'o-jo, which seems in some ways similar to the k'o-b'a so prominent in Creation texts. and I suspect she was misled by the k'o-jo, which seems in some ways similar to the k'o-b'a so prominent in Creation texts. More importantly, Steve Houston has recently pointed out a yi- conflated with the ILA verb, which calls for either a possessed noun or a transitive construction, not a passive as Linda had supposed. This piece therefore seems to have little direct bearing on the Creation, and probably references an historical event in the life of the Chak K'uh monarch Yax K'oj Ahk instead.
